SweetPs-Dive-SoulHouse-Catering

In 2005 owner Chris Ford, with the help of his wife Kari and inspired by his newly born daughter lovingly called Sweet P, began catering and delivering delicious southern fare from their home in West Knoxville. Word spread about the authentic barbecue, great sauces and amazing sides, and as business grew, it was time to open a dine-in restaurant in 2009. The Soul House served barbecue and live music along the Little River in Maryville until 2020. During that time Sweet P’s saw a lot of growth and was featured on Travel Channel’s Man v. Food as well as The United Tastes of America along with write ups in the New York Times, Conde Nast, and Paula Dean Magazine just to name a few.

In the spring of 2021, the first full-service Sweet P’s concept, Uptown Corner, opened in Fountain City. Featuring table service, a great bar with classic cocktails and a wide variety of beer, The Uptown Corner is more than just a BBQ restaurant featuring daily specials, salads and brunch on the weekends. From humble beginnings Chris and crew are still doing what they love cooking and catering for a community that has continued to support their culinary dreams.

Sweet P’s BBQ still Smoking after 20 years.
